It’s hard to believe that this amazing annual event we have been looking forward to since the moment we left EDC 2010 has come and gone as the excellent whirlwind weekend we all knew it would be. Sure there were a few snags, the wait at the shuttle and the heat come to mind. But the amazing music, awe inspiring production, and wonderful people were enough to make us forget all of that. It was astounding to see how Insomniac transformed the 1,000-acre Speedway into a fully immersive audiovisual experience with large-scale art installations amidst the six stages, along with mind blowing lighting and sound production. The weekend’s 230,000 attendees also experienced the most impressive pyrotechnics display in Insomniac’s history, featuring a 15-minute fireworks display each night and even a multi-colored flame system at the Cosmic Meadows stage. Performance highlights for Electric Visions from the 3 nights were (in no particular order) Plastikman/Richie Hawtin, Empire of the Sun, Green Velvet, Gaiser, Harvard Bass, Glitch Mob, Bunny and the always wonderful Markus Schultz. The Disco Stage, cool off rooms and water refill stations were FABULOUS additions to EDC. Can’t wait to see what they pull off in 2012!
