After the release of Cosmic Opera’s cryptic teaser video and Twitter countdown last week, everyone wanted to get more info on the event that’s supposed to change the world of dance music forever. Well today, we have that info and its looking pretty good.

As reported by the New York Times earlier today, founder Justin Cohen has ambitions to change the way people experience electronic-dance concerts, turning them into theatrical events with dreamlike imagery. Mr. Cohen said that Cosmic Opera will also have a storyline, with costumed actors mingling in the crowd.

Hammerstein’s legendary history of iconic performances and profound architecture gave me much of the inspiration for the vision of Cosmic Opera. Headlining the first event in the series will be none other than Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell, who will help transform New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom into the unique “extrasensory” experience. Although this event sounds very similar to the Lucent Dossier Experience, it appears to be adding additional elements to make it stand out. So be ready on Friday, February 24 when the series goes live! Advanced tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 17 at 10am EST. General tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 18 at 10am EST.
