Tricky is back! Back with a new studio album and his very own label. Both the album and his label are going by the name “False Idols.” Many of the tracks on False Idols are set to feature artists that are signed to Tricky’s new label, including vocalist Londoner Francesca Belmonte and Fifi Rong. Leading up to the album’s release, Tricky’s label will also release an EP entitled “Matter of Time,” which will showcase the label’s new roster of talent.
Tricky:
“I was lost for ages, I was trying to prove something to people, trying to do something to please other people and also myself at the same time, which is never going to work. To be honest with you, I’ve been floating around since Chris Blackwell and Island. My last two albums, I thought they were good, but I realize now they weren’t. This album is about me finding myself again.”
Considering the album features 15 tracks that bring back the spirit of Tricky’s earliest releases and the fact that it’s being called his most accomplished album, when False Idols drops on May 28th, it shouldn’t be passed up. Check out the album’s tracklist and first single “Nothing’s Changed” below.
