Fatboy Slim Honored At The Sixth Annual International Music Summit

Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, was honored last night at the Sixth Annual International Music Summit in Ibiza during the IMS Legends Dinner which was held in Ibiza’s prestigious Cipriani’s. The dinner was in association with Nokia Music and featured the music industry coming together in support of Norman. Even artists that couldn’t make it out to the event like Carl Cox, Rob da Bank, Nervo, Iggy Pop, and even Talking Heads main man David Byrne, showed their support through video messages for Fatboy Slim.

Insomniac Announces ‘EDC 2013: You Are The Headliner’ Documentary Details

Insomniac has announced their partnership with Haven Entertainment, who produced “A Band Called Death” and “More than a Game,” and directors Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, the team behind “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” and Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” to bring the documentary entitled “EDC 2013: You Are the Headliner” to life. The film is set to explore the festival experience through the eyes of the fans and give you a glimpse at the creative minds behind the massive event.

“I’m very excited for audiences to witness the passion that goes into making EDC Las Vegas an unforgettable experience for the fans, who I consider our headliners,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “The teams at Haven Entertainment and Magical Elves understand the spirit of EDC and I’m confident that we will capture the magic of the festival on film.”

Feed Me Plans To Leave The Scene By Autumn?

Through a series of tweets on Twitter last night, British Producer/DJ Feed Me, let his fans know that he will no longer be DJing by the time Autumn comes around. Feed Me explained that he really enjoys playing DJ sets but that he’s got a feeling that it’s not what he’s supposed to be doing. We’re glad to hear that despite exiting the DJing game for awhile, he will continue producing music, creating art, telling stories, and being the creative person that we all know and love.

EDMbiz launched last year to promote and facilitate thoughtful discussion on the most relevant topics in dance music culture. Discussion topics included best business practices, new technology platforms, social media, festivals, direct-to-fan relationships, licensing, sponsorship’s, and sustaining community during a period of significant growth.

At the second annual conference, attendees will enjoy a schedule filled with the same quality panel discussions and keynote addresses as last year, plus networking events at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas during Electric Daisy Carnival Week from June 18-20, 2013. As a way to bring people together through the power of music and video, Arty has joined forces with the Las Vegas Marquee Nightclub and the new Vyclone social media app to create the first ever fan generated dance music video. It all goes down this Friday, May 24th, when Arty performs at the Marquee and has asked fans in attendance to film his anthem “Together We Are” to help create the video.

Vyclone gives users the ability to create some of the most perfectly edited collaborative movies you’ll see on your handheld screen. If you’re one of the lucky ones at the Marquee this Friday, check out the info below to see how you can contribute.

Ultra Music Festival Early Bird Tickets Sold Out

Within just minutes of going on sale, all early bird and advance tickets for the 16th annual Ultra Music Festival sold out! Priced at a measly $149.95 for a full weekend pass, which is extremely low for any major music festival, it’s no surprise that the early bird tickets were gone within just 4 minutes. Due to a technical blip with the ticketing servers, additional early bird tickets were later re-issued and snatched up just as quick as the first batch. Following the early bird sell out, advance tickets immediately went on sale for $274.95 and have also sold out.
